The world is full of people who have crashed and burned at the hands of “yes people.” Celebrities, politicians, CEOs — some of the biggest downfalls in history can be traced back to a lack of truth-tellers in the room. When you are constantly praised, never questioned, and always affirmed, you start to live in delusion — and delusion is a dangerous place to lead from.

I want people around me who are brave enough to say, “You’re wrong,” or “That wasn’t your best,” or “Let’s think about this differently.” That’s how you grow. That’s how you sharpen your instincts. That’s how you lead.
