As you are aware, I am a single mom and my son has ADHD with extreme agitation. April is Autism Awareness Month, a time dedicated to promoting understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD). During this month, we aim to increase awareness about autism, encourage inclusivity, and highlight the incredible contributions of individuals with autism.
Understanding Autism
Autism is a complex, lifelong developmental condition that typically appears during early childhood and can impact a person’s social skills, communication, relationships, and self-regulation. Autism is known as a “spectrum” disorder because there is wide variation in the type and severity of symptoms people experience.

Educate Yourself and Others: Take the time to learn about autism and share this knowledge with friends and family.
